Ice Cream Recall – Blue Bell Ice Cream
We cover a lot of recalls that deal with contamination from things like salmonella and e.coli. However, recalls can occur for other reasons, such as this Blue Bell Ice Cream recall due to bits of plastic. Yikes.
Chicken Recall – Tip Top Poultry
Tip Top Poultry, based of out Georgia, expanded their recall from September 28th of this year to include quite a few more products. While you may not be familiar with Tip Top, you may find that some of the products included in the recall are ones you’ve seen. They provide chicken for many ready-to-eat products. It’s worth taking a look at the lists…
Pet Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Month, and we wanted to share that cats and dogs can get breast cancer, too. It isn’t common, but it’s worth giving a few belly rubbings this month (and risking some scratches/bites!) to see if you detect any lumps.

Non-profit of the week: "PawsCo"
PawsCo is a volunteer-run non-profit based in Denver, Colorado. They work hard to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters by running massive food drives, working to raise 10,000 pounds of food per month! They also partner with local shelters to take pets who aren’t doing well in a shelter environment, and place them in foster homes. They do great work!
