Pig Ear Recall

For our dog-owning friends, there is a massive recall of pig ears due to contamination with salmonella. So far, 45 people in 13 states are infected with salmonella. If you have any of these at home, please check with the location at which you bought them to see if they’re part of the recall.

Vegetable Recall

-Speaking of recalls, Grower’s Express issued a recall for bagged vegetables under the Green Giant label, as well as their own brand name and Trader Joe’s, for contamination of listeria. No illnesses have been reported, which is great news, but definitely check the website to see the list of items.

July 4th Pet Care

For the animals who aren’t lucky enough to have a permanent home yet, there are a few shelters who implemented some great ways to help their animals feel safe during the 4th of July holiday.

For example, this shelter in Florida partnered with the Brevard County Jail, whose inmates will be holding, snuggling, and reading with shelter dogs on the 4th.

And this shelter in Arizona is relying on local volunteers to do the same thing during their “Calm the Canines” event.
